20 Things To Do In Yours 20’s

Your twenties are an exhilarating yet confusing chapter in life. I’m 24 myself, and I’m using this blog to inspire not only myself but also others to embrace this chaotic decade and fill it with crazy memories.

It’s easy to fall into a repetitive routine if we’re not careful, losing sight of the excitement that comes from being adventurous and even a little uncomfortable (which isn’t always a bad thing). Every moment we step outside our comfort zone is a chance to shift the trajectory of our lives. Don’t get me wrong—routine has its place. But life isn’t about rigidity. It’s about change and growth. Our 20s are a time to cultivate this mindset, not just for our present selves but also for the future, enabling us to lead lives filled with quirky, exhilarating, and transformative experiences.

Your best project in life will always be you. Invest in yourself. Explore. Set ambitious goals and go after them with everything you’ve got. Be bold, be authentic, and live fully.

My Bucket List:

The following ideas range from participating in a fitness event to staying in a luxury hotel or embarking on a solo trip abroad. Everyone’s list will be different, so take what resonates with you and build a life that feels genuinely fulfilling.

1. Go on a Rural Digital Detox

The world is addicted to screens. It’s hard to escape the constant bombardment of notifications and the compulsive need to check our digital lives. It’s not entirely our fault—smart technology is designed to be this way. But there comes a point when we need to step back and set some boundaries. A rural digital detox is the perfect opportunity to re-learn how to navigate life without our smartphones and reconnect with the present moment.

It’s an amazing way to clear your mind, lower stress levels, and reestablish a sense of balance. If you choose to do it with your partner, friends, or family, it can be a bonding experience too. Take this time to reflect, breathe, and just be.

2. Take a Solo Trip

Solo travel is empowering. It pushes you out of your comfort zone and gives you a sense of freedom that’s unlike anything else. You’ll get to know yourself better, interact with strangers, and set your own agenda.

After my first solo trip, I was hooked. It can be as simple as exploring a local town for a weekend or flying across the globe for a life-changing adventure. Whatever it is, solo travel is an experience everyone should try at least once.

3. Go on an All-Inclusive Holiday

All-inclusive holidays are the ultimate in convenience. With everything taken care of, from meals to activities, you can focus solely on enjoying yourself without the stress of budgeting or planning every detail.

These trips strike a great balance between relaxation, adventure, and socializing—perfect for the busy 20-something who wants to get the most out of their vacation.

4. Unplugged, No-Phone Trip

Take it a step further by planning a completely unplugged getaway—no phones, no laptops, no screens. Challenge yourself to leave your devices behind and let your brain truly reset. It’s surprising how refreshing it can be to get back to basics, read a physical book, and interact with the world around you without the constant distraction of digital notifications.

5. Go on a Safari

Whether it’s exploring the vast plains of Africa or visiting Port Lympne in the UK, a safari is a must-do for animal lovers and adventure seekers. Experience the thrill of seeing wild animals in their natural habitat, learn about conservation, and gain a deeper appreciation for the world’s biodiversity.

6. Run a Race or Participate in a Fitness Event

There’s something transformative about training for and completing a physical challenge. Whether it’s a 5K, a marathon, a Tough Mudder, or a triathlon, participating in a fitness event will boost your confidence, improve your health, and give you a sense of accomplishment.

7. Visit Disney World in Orlando

Embrace your inner child and experience the magic of Disney in your twenties. It’s not just for kids—Disney’s incredible attractions, entertainment, and food will bring out your playful side and leave you with cherished memories.

8. Experience Fine Dining

Splurge on a multi-course tasting menu at a Michelin-star restaurant. This isn’t just about the food—it’s about the experience, the artistry, and the ambiance. Treat yourself to a night of pure culinary indulgence.

9. Stay at a Luxury Hotel

Spend at least one night in a high-end hotel and immerse yourself in the luxury. Enjoy the spa, order room service, and relish the comfort of top-tier accommodations.

10. Hike Abroad

There’s no better way to see a country than on foot. Plan a hiking trip abroad, whether it’s the Inca Trail in Peru, the Swiss Alps, or the trails of New Zealand. You’ll challenge yourself physically and be rewarded with breathtaking views.

11. Try Therapy

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Whether you’re dealing with a specific issue or just want to better understand yourself, therapy can be incredibly beneficial.

12. Fly Business Class

Save up and upgrade your flight for a truly luxurious experience. Enjoy premium seating, gourmet meals, and priority service. It’s one of those things you should experience at least once, especially for long-haul flights.

13. Explore Your Home Country

It’s easy to overlook what’s right in front of us. Take the time to explore your own country—visit local landmarks, quaint towns, and hidden gems.

14. Go on a Road Trip

Get a group of friends, map out a route, and hit the open road. The journey is just as important as the destination, and road trips are the perfect way to experience new places and create unforgettable stories.

15. Learn to Ski or Snowboard

Take a trip to the mountains and challenge yourself to learn a winter sport. It’s fun, social, and gives you a sense of accomplishment when you master it.

16. Learn to Cook

Mastering a few staple recipes is a great skill to have in your twenties. Whether it’s for impressing dates, saving money, or just being able to nourish yourself properly, cooking is an invaluable life skill.

17. Try Foreign Foods

Expand your palate by tasting dishes from around the world. Whether it’s street food in Bangkok, sushi in Tokyo, or tapas in Spain, experiencing different cuisines will broaden your culinary horizons.

18. Go on a Cruise

Cruises are a unique way to travel, combining relaxation, exploration, and entertainment all in one. Choose a destination and set sail for a week or more, enjoying the onboard amenities and shore excursions.

19. Attend a Major World Event

Whether it’s the Olympics, the World Cup, or a major music festival, attending a world-class event is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that’ll leave you with incredible stories to tell.

20. Start a Passion Project

Whether it’s a blog, a small business, or a creative endeavour, starting a passion project is one of the best ways to invest in yourself. It’ll challenge you, inspire you, and possibly set the foundation for your future.
